The Hillside Restaurant was started in 1955, making it the most well established restaurant in Northern Illinois. When it began it was a small counter style chicken house, created in a charming building that had been a shoe store and a doughnut shop. As business grew, new menu ideas were added to keep DeKalb in step with what was new and exciting. When Lasagna was first put on our menu, no one had ever heard of it, and it caused quite a stir. Great homemade food. Cozy atmosphere. Love supporting a local business with tasty seasonal menu!
Fabulous food. Fabulous service. Never changes, fortunately!
Decent food but overpriced. Almost $12 for a sandwich?... The one waiter was extremely rude and made a snarky remark when dining there. Truly unprofessional and a horrible representation of this establishment.
First time eating here. The food was delicious and the service was prompt. Will definately go back.
