Really wonderful family Sunday lunch. The roast beef was fillet (from James White butchers) and was cooked perfectly. Gorgeous home made Yorkshire pudding and the most amazing gravy. Great wine list and Guinness and Theakston on draught. Dining room very beautiful, warm and comfortable. Some people have commented that the menu is limited but to me, that’s a very good thing. Restaurants with vast menus are unlikely to be cooking everything freshly from scratch.

Don't miss this place! Doggo friendly! Free parking, extremely friendly over and above attentive staff, Just met the head chef (Mark) & restaurant owner (Lauren) & every single little detail of my Coeliac partner and me (personal touch) taken into full account. Impressed and run how all hotel and restaurant businesses should be. Awesome hotel .

I had the pleasure of staying at Highfield Hotel, and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had in England. As a guest, I was warmly welcomed and treated with genuine care and respect throughout my stay. Had shocking experience with vouchers -one not dated and when tried to use said they had changed their system but said it was out of date! Then before that came to light I had bought 2 vouchers for afternoon tea for two as Christmas vouchers - now apparently not honouring them as gone into administration! Had always wanted to go and experience there - now wouldn’t go if you paid me! So watch out anyone who has got vouchers as gifts- total waste of money!
