AMAZING, UNIQUE, GEM of a place that needs more National promotion. Visited here as a treat for my son to forge his own fire poker and the gentleman “Tom” who taught him was just brilliant. So skilled and a great teacher. Passionate and knowledgable about an important dying skill. My 11yr old said he will never forget it. The site was very accessible, clean, friendly staff. Facilities fab too. Beautiful surroundings, so much more to learn about we can’t wait to go back!

An easy walk on cromford canal. In summer the barge runs the mile journey to high peak junction. Outside seating there and refreshments available.
