ADD ME TO THE LIST: AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE – I am not surprised at the recent negative reviews. Due to their deplorable customer service, I must advise anyone considering Herzog-Meier to look elsewhere for a vehicle. I was made to wait (with my 5-year-old child) for a ridiculous amount of time, I was given a hard time when I asked to take the car to a 3rd-party mechanic, and then when I had to put $300 into the car 5 days after purchase, they strung me along for two months in emails and phone calls before I had to contact VW... read more
Despicable customer treatment – Seeing the many other complaints here and on other review sites, let me just say that the finance department and staff at Herzog while handling my son's Volvo purchase were inept and incompetent at least, and dishonest at worst. But more important than that, their attitude and comportment were simply awful. In a difficult situation where some courtesy could have helped, their staff was unnecessarily rude and abrupt, turning a difficult situation into a real nightmare. Horrible Service – The salesmen and their managers were extremely rude. I was waiting for an hour before I was even seen. Their loss- I bought a car somewhere else where the people were more attentive.
Excellent Customer Service – I bought a new Mazda Speed3 for my son in January 2009 which was a very positive sales experience. A problem just recently developed with second gear when downshifting after 4,700 miles so I just took in for service. Mazda corporate required an inspection report on the vehicle for transmission issues due to the low miles prior to approving to treat as a warranty item. Excellent sales experience – I just bought my second VW GTI from Herzog Meier VW and had an excellent experience with my salesman, Mike Nolan. Car buying is always an annoying and tedious experience, but this time was completely different because of the great salesman we worked with. Mike Nolan was incredibly professional and nice and had a great sense of humor. He was very attentive and took care of us during the entire time we were there. Service, Price, Sales Knowledge... It's all Great – I have bought a Volvo S40 and a VW Toureg from Herzog-Meier and I really love this dealership. Great price on both cars, friendly staff - and when they service my cars they fix everything correct the first time. Whether you're in Portland, Vancouver, Beaverton or anywhere else you should visit this dealership.
Poor and unprofessional service. – I did not purchase my VW from this dealership, but it is the closest one to my home. I had my car towed there last August when my car wouldn't even turn over, first problem since I got my car years ago. I asked for a complete diagnostic and after almost a day they told me that my battery was dead, and that there was absolutely nothing else wrong with my car, this cost me close to $300 (not including the tow). 3 months later my battery died again. Very unprofessional. BEWARE! Buy from Jim Fisher! – We purchased our first Volvo XC70 from Herzog-Meier Volkswagen Volvo in 2005. They were courteous and very professional back then. Now, 3 1/2 years later apparently the professionalism and courteousness has gone out of the dealership. We have been mislead, lied to, and taken advantage of. They even went as far as trying to intimidate us into giving them "fantastic ratings" on the Volvo "after the transaction" survey.
