I don't know where to start. I won't use Hertz again. I think this is what happens when private equity buys a company and runs it from afar by spreadsheets. Oh, I will just say the on hold music is TERRIBLE. Someone hoo-ing and whoo-ing repeatedly while a chorus says "Let's go!" while you wait for many minutes. It's very annoying. Again, I don't think any of the owner/operators/decision makers at this business have ever been put on hold and dealth with their beginner level customer service reps. I was in an accident and did what I was told to do with the paperwork. Well it was a big mess and I spent days trying to get someone the information. I never have dealt with a company that didn't know what they were doing. My claims person even tried 7 times to get ahold of someone with no return calls. If you want to spend hours and days on the phone then use them. (Actually it was dollar rental but they are part of Hertz

Horrible experience! I have auto claim with State Farm and when i took my car to the shop, my agent told me that Hertz is the rental car and they should be picking you up in roughly 4 hours. I call the Hertz office and the person who answered said that there will be no pickup until tomorrow! Thankfully i was able to get another way home!

I rented a car one-way from Flint, MI to Knoxville, TN for 7 days. I returned the vehicle two hours earlier than on my rental agreement. Fast forward almost two months later, and Hertz has over-drawn my credit card by charging me for TWO weeks, plus a late return fee. I am disputing the charges. Will never, ever rent from Hertz again and will let all my coworkers and friends know about my experience.

Hertz San Juan Puerto Rico 7/16/2023 at 11:00 pm. We are gold members and have a reservation, we have to wait 1 hour for a car with a dead battery, then they give us the next car to the booth that was there all the time, was a Mitsubishi outlander with 7k miles, apparently the car was in a crash (it was very uncomfortable to drive, brake didn’t work well, ac don’t cool, costumer service 0/10. We reserved a vehicle on June 30th to pick up on July 14th in Matteson, IL. The initial reservation was made using my daughters card because I could not locate mine. My second mistake. The first mistake was choosing Hertz at that location! When I arrived I was told my daughter had to be the driver, which is a problem because she doesn't drive and doesn't have a license. Rented Car from Hertz in Wilmington, NC. Returned car full of gas. Got bill next day adding a fuel surcharge. I asked rep for photo of fuel gauge, she sent me a photo showing the gauge at full. Told her I thought this was "nickle-dimey". She must of taken exception to that comment, because about an hour later, I got a bill for "cleaning surcharge" of $250.00. Worst customer service ever. Got yelled at for parking in their parking lot for a pickup in their business. had to park in another business. When we got inside the manager was just as rude. Then refused to give us a car. We had a pre-paid reservation. We had to go to their competition for a rental last minute. Don't try to rent a car here, they may not give you one.
