We have been staying at the Heidel House for the last 3 years. Great location but it is very sad how the property is in such great disrepair. Our room had food on the floor, smelled like mold, bedding wet and our granddaughter had black knees and feet from the floor. Black mold and plants growing on the patio below our air conditioner, patio screen door torn, large spider webs all over the chairs. No one cleaned the pool on Saturday, no towels, old food on the table I saw guests cleaning the tables. The out side is in need o... read more

We had a user group conference at the Heidel House. I have not been able to use the spa services, but the rest has been pretty good. The location is beautiful. Indoor and outdoor pools. A small beach. Outside areas to relax. Lake is huge. Our event food was really good and the event servers were excellent. The bartender in the Boat House was friendly. The outdoor fire pit at the Boat House in a nice touch for evening.

We stayed at the Heidel House this last weekend for our honeymoon. They bumped us up to the lake front view which was a very pretty view. But the air conditioner did not sound right and looked like it was going to fall off the wall. The second night the air conditioner died. They immediately put us up in another room, but we lost our lake front view. The rooms were outdated and a bit dirty. There were cobwebs in the corner near the window and hair in the tub. The site was very picturesque and nice location. But, you I would say the resort is very dated as far as the buildings and the grounds. I did not stay at the resort so can't speak to the rooms. We attended a wedding reception there, only thing we were surprised about was after the dinner was over the wait staff was very slow in clearing the tables and the room. Came for anniversary overnight. Paid for a package and expected to get our money's worth, but unfortunately we found that the hotel was outdated. We had dead bugs and cobwebs in the corners of our room, the shower was like a camp shower with no room and no water flow, and the hallways had unusual scents and were not clean. We enjoyed the pool, the lake view and the docks. The grounds were well maintained. We tried 2 of 3 restaurants which were marginal for the price. Again, expected more as it was so expensive. My son and I came for an overnight getaway and had a nice time. The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. Our room was clean and comfortable. The scenery was amazing, and it was very relaxing sitting on the adirondak chairs at the end of the docks. We took the afternoon yacht cruise, which was fun. Unfortunately, the speaker system was not working, so that was disappointing. In order to hear the tour guide, we would have needed to sit inside the cabin.
