We have visited The Hawkley Inn previously and had excellent food. However,today fell well short. The food did not deliever on flavour or quality and was sent back. We do not often complain and we were looking forward to precious family time today. The risotto was overcooked,dry and inedible. The Sea Bream was very over cooked. The fish and chips was poor quality and the fish was tasteless. Batter was over cooked on one plate and under cooked on another.Overall, very disappointing. Very cosy little inn, lovely owners who were very welcoming. It's a bit out of the way, but we stayed there after a wedding reception and managed to get an Uber there at around midnight from Liphook. Breakfast was included and it was lovely. Overall a very welcoming and warm atmosphere, and if we are in the area again we would definitely return.

Arrived yesterday lunchtime to find that I had booked the following week in error! The staff could not have been more helpful, fitting us in when they already had a party in full swing! They advised a wait but when we ordered, the food came out without a wait and was delicious. Would definitely recommend food, service, ambiance.
