I had a few hours to spare and thought i would visit haverrig beach,wow, what a beautiful place,miles of lovely sand which backs onto sand dunes, perfect place to get away from everything and just enjoy the fresh air,it is also the perfect place for nudists, definitely a place to visit again soon
Don't expect a good seaside beach. A bit shingly and the sea may be out of sight. There is a cafe open daily. Some very good local walking - such as round the lagoon. Great for bird watchers.
Very quiet but loved it
Haverigg is an unspoilt out of the way Lake District village. The beach is stony but clean. The sea was far out but clearly the tide brings it in close as we passed by some huge jellyfish. We stayed in Heron House Guest House which is only a short walk from the beach. If you are looking for accommodation in Haverigg you won't do better than this - very fair prices, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
