This is one of the few large and affordable hotels in downtown Washington. It is located minutes from the National Mall, the U.S. Capitol and many museums and attractions. The very basic accommodations are clean and comfortable. The hotel welcomes group reservations. The suites are great for families.

We had a small, clean room at a fantastic rate and close to everything we were doing. Definitely recommend.
The Hotel is located between the White House and The Ford Theater and 2 blocks from the Mall. Within walking distance of several METRO stations. Three restaurants in the hotel. We had 4 people in our group and reserved a two bedroom suite, which allow each kid (16 and 13 years old) to have their own bed and we had two bathrooms for approximately $20.00 more than a 2 Queen bed room. The rooms had an accordion door between them which was nice at the end of the night. We requested a quiet room, and ended up on the 11th floor an... read more
The people who help to run this hotel are absolutely amazing. From the lady who checked us in (Charnee), to the bellman who helped us with our luggage and was always available with directions, and who even made a special trip up to our room with a list of local restaurants with no prompting ( Felipe), to our housekeeper Louise
Wow, this lovely old hotel still has charm and is SO close to so many attractions. Rates are good and worth checking out. You can't beat the location which is just a short walk from the White House and all the memorials as well as around the corner from Ford's Theatre and two blocks from a subway! Very convenient and I enjoyed my stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to any budget-minded traveler. It's not the Ritz but its room rates are hard to beat in this city. You'd be hard pressed to find anything as convenient or a... read more
This is a lovely hotel, and represents excellent value given its location at the heart of Washington. Yes, it's not super-duper up-to-date, but the rooms have character and are reasonably equipped. The reception desk was well provided with excellent maps of Washington city centre, which we used a lot during our stay, and the staff were always available and helpful.
We found this place by looking in one of those free newspapers you get at the rest area which advertise motels and restaurants. What a find! The location is unbelievable and was a great deal. My friend said our room was a bit dated but I personally loved it. The room was immaculate so I absolutely loved it. And our dog was welcome!
My mom, aunt, son and I stayed and we have no complaints. My mother used Travelocity to book the rooms. When she booked the rooms, she asked if there was a AAA or senior citizens discount and they said no. When we checked in ( which they let us do 3 hours early) they gave my mother a 10% senior citizen discount. They even showed my 12 year old son a lot of places he may want to visit during our stay! We stayed in a 4 bed room which was at one time, 2 small rooms. The bonus was that there was a bathroom on each side. The a/c ... read more
I have told all of my friends since I've come back home today that if they ever go to Washington DC to stay at the hotel Harrington. It is an absolutely awesome place the people are so nice you cannot beat Harry's & Harriet's for places to eat. Harry's has the best margarita I've had a long time. The staff at Harry's restaurant went over and Beyond to wait on us to talk to us to get to know us it was almost like being a lot in a little local Hometown restaurant . Even the four- man that keep having help us adjust our heater ... read more
This is a wonderful historic hotel! Super great location. Our family of five had ease navigating the DC mall and all sites that were on our list! We had two queen beds and a single in the same room so our family of five enjoyed the spacious room. There are some trade-offs when you sign into an historic hotel, but it was very worth the value and the proximity to everything in DC we wanted! Everything in the room worked and we were very comfortable. It was nice having Windows to open and watch the snow!
