Food and service has always been great. If you're lucky enough to go during good weather the outdoor views can't be beat.

I recommend the raccoon, raised right in the dining room, but I didn't see it till I ordered an excellent rib eye!
Totally enjoyed the atmosphere! We didn't have to wait long. This place was highly recommended and we were not disappointed. Great chicken fried steak, ribs and excellent spinach dip. Our waiter was awesome keep our drinks filled, considering how big and busy the place was kudos to the staff. We expected to wait a long time but to our surprise 10 minute wait only! Keep up the good job!
The ambiance, our server Chris and the service is unbeatable. I thoroughly enjoyed the Texas sized onion rings and torpedos. They were amazing but the chicken fried steak fell a little short. It wasn't as flavorful as before and just drowned in the ok gravy. The mashed potatoes were to die for.we also had the rib eye but it tasted as it was frozen and then thawed out. This was the first time I had experienced this while dining here. I'm sure it was an isolated incident but I would definitely come back. Thank you.
Yes The Grist Mill is the best resturant in Gruene, Texas and loveto eat .
The food was great and the service was great and the atmosphere was very enjoyable
