The food and the atmosphere was excellent, and the waitress we had was very on point with everything.
My husband and two boys took a road trip yesterday from Katy. We decided to try the Gristmill because I saw great reviews on the Texas Monthly magazine. I expected the wait and was not disappointed at all. My husband and I had a few adult beverages the entertainment was great while we waited. Every time we go to Gruene, we always have a great dinner here with a wonderful view. Sadly this time the service and food were HORRIBLE! After waiting for an hour and 15 mins they sat us in the wrong place...we had asked to sit by the river...when I mentioned this to the hostess at the table they said we would have to wait another 30 mins...so while we are waiting for our waiter...two river side tables next to ours opened up...I asked again and fortunately they moved us...our waiter finally arrived with bloody hands...appar... read more
Always worth the long wait!! Especially if you wait for a river view. The food is always spot on every time I've been.
Great scenery. Staff is awesome. The only shortcoming is that the steaks need a bit more seasoning other than the lemon butter that they use.
Really nice, like all the outdoor seating. Food was decent and nice listening to live music. I would go back, very rustic!
We had to wait 45 minutes to get a table! I still love to eat here! I love the food and our waiter Juan was the best! The long wait was well worth it! Can't wait to come back again! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Best chicken fried chicken, mash potatoes and onion rings. Get a table over looking the river. Best outside seating we've found in our two years of living here. We've always had excellent service and the wait time isn't bad even when super busy. We've made this our anniversary dinner spot the past two years since we've been here. If you don't go, you'll regret it!!
We ate there last night for my birthday and it was amazing! Our server Jonis was fantastic. We have two family members who are anaphylactic to dairy products, we explained our situation to him and he made sure we were taken care of. We have never been to a restaurant like that before. He went above and beyond his job and really impressed us last night. We will be back again with our entire family! Thanks again! ���
