Upper management wants to fire the kid who bought a cookie for a police officer and Great American cookies is basically sticking up for the adult thugs that wanted to beat him up. I grew up in Katy and this young man represents what I was taught growing up, respect. You can bet your bottom dollar next time I'm at the mall and my six-year-old wants a cookie we will absolutely be going somewhere else.
Managed by people who do not defend their employees from unwarranted attacks, then take punitive action against innocent employees without caring enough to carefully listen to the facts of the situation. Then offer apology after they realize they have put their business on life support. Epic management failure.

There is no denying that we should have stood behind our employee from the beginning. We've been trying to get into contact with him to remedy the situation. Doing so we know will take time, but we are committed to making this right.

What a terrible way to handle a volatile situation. Instead of defending the young man who treated a public servant they write him up and punish him because some idiot took offense. I will never again go to this establishment.
