"Once you cross the Travis County line, it starts smelling different. And you know what that fragrance is? Freedom. It’s the smell of freedom that does not exist in Austin, Texas.” - Gov. Greg Abbott You have got to be fucking kidding me!!!!!! If you don't like Austin, then you can leave!

Governor Abbott - You must call a special session to remedy the situation of 200 school districts who will lose their funding due to the legislatures decision not to restore ASATR funding. As a teacher at Lovejoy Independent School District and a parent of 3 awesome boys the failure of the Texas Legislature to restore ASTAR funding and our district losing nearly 6 million dollars irritates me. In a time when we are being asked to tighten our belts and watch all spending, we the taxpayers are being forced to pay for a special... read more

My local school district is complaining that the Texas House blocked a revenue bill because of the House's opposition to school vouchers. His proposed solution presumably is to ditch the vouchers. I'd prefer to ditch the House members who are obstructing vouchers. Vouchers, please!

Governor - PLEASE add ASATR to a special session!!! The loss of funding will be devastating to MANY school districts in Texas! Please do the right thing for the future of our state. Also, remember if parents have to start to pay for bus service and for sports among other things it will financially affect families. These same parents will exercise their vote against you in upcoming elections!

Gov. Greg Abbott please veto HB 3976 and dip into the rainy day fund or approve funds to cover the shortfall of funds for retired teacher health care! I am a 57 yr old, disabled retired teacher and only receive $576 monthly retirement. I cannot receive help from SS and can't afford higher health care premiums or out-of-pocket costs and still pay normal living expenses. I wish I had taught school in another state that paid teachers more and had better benefits. I talk to young people today who are thinking of teaching here an... read more

I'm a dad of three great kids and principal of 643 amazing young 5th and 6th grade learners. For them, I'm asking that you call a special session to include a remedy for ASATR funding for the children of Texas. As you know, this essential funding was promised to Texas school children so their districts could hire needed teachers and keep class sizes at a reasonable student to teacher ratio. Without your help, my kids at home and at school will suffer. It is up to you now, to assist the 175 districts that will lose this essen... read more

You need to call a special session and fix school funding this is beyond ridiculous! Our district alone will lose 2.9million in funding and we cannot afford that and our kids deserve better than that!
