About this business

Texas is the second-largest state in the United States. It covers more than 268,600 square miles. Spain was the first European power to lay claim to Texas and the state also flew the flags of France and Mexico before gaining its independence in 1836. Texas borders Mexico along the Rio Grande and embraces mountain ranges and canyons to the west; lakes, plantations and pine forests to the east; plains to the north; citrus groves, Gulf of Mexico beaches and low-lying alluvial plains to the south; and rolling hill country and cl... read more

Why do you need a special session when you are ok with the TEA forcing 8 year olds to test within a 4 hour time limit? Why not look at what is really going on and quit wasting the money the state does have for a bunch of over paid legislators to meet? Why not take care of your state employees, TEACHERS, fire, police, etc, first? Stop putting it back on the tax payers and step and do your job! Stop pointing the finger and try giving to public education. I promise you will start getting the "results" you are after. Come spend ... read more

I am so disappointed in what Texas government is doing to teachers and retired teachers that I can hardly stand it. But that's ok. Soon we can vote for them to endure the insurance we've had to. Oh no, that's right-- they vote themselves the best there is. And for a lifetime. Do they really deserve it for the measly 140+ days they work a year? I only worked 34 years and now you're pulling the rug out from under us! Despicable.

I want to express my dismay that you and the Secretary of State are going to released the voter information files for all us in Texas to the Federal Government. They also want the voting records going back to 2006. I can’t believe this can benefit us in any way. It is also my understanding that more than twenty states have refused to release this information. I would encourage you to please do the same.

Governor Abbott is a sad excuse for a Governor! I cannot wait to vote him OUT! I hope your resume is dusted off! You have done enough damage to Texas's Public Education and should be ashamed of yourself

You are not working for all Texans. You are not making wise decisions with our money. You are making lives miserable.

I voted for you and unfortunately you along with your colleagues are assaulting teachers and public education. Teachers in Texas are being treated unfairly. Last session a bill was written to say that collecting our teacher organization dues along with firefighters and policeman through payroll deduction would be illegal. It did not pass. Now for the upcoming emergency session you want the bill reauthorized, but this time it has been rewritten with only teachers' dues that are taken out by payroll deduction being illegal. Wh... read more

RE: Gay spousal benefits. Well, that cinches it. I have visited the TX Gulf Coast in spring many times from Idaho. Not again until common sense and humanity override your ideological blinders. Shameful!

Texans, listen up - Texas was asked by Trump to provide all voter information including full social security, address, party affiliation, date of birth, and everything else on a voter registration. Contact the Sec of State and Gov. Abbott and demand that the state NOT turn in this sensitive information. Ask yourself, if this request was coming from any other political party, Democrat or Republican, would you be okay with it? Citizen information is not for sale.
