Texas is the second-largest state in the United States. It covers more than 268,600 square miles. Spain was the first European power to lay claim to Texas and the state also flew the flags of France and Mexico before gaining its independence in 1836. Texas borders Mexico along the Rio Grande and embraces mountain ranges and canyons to the west; lakes, plantations and pine forests to the east; plains to the north; citrus groves, Gulf of Mexico beaches and low-lying alluvial plains to the south; and rolling hill country and cl... read more

Best Governor ever! Ignore all the liberals spewing their hate and know you have the vast majority of Texans supporting what you're doing. All the haters need only look at that 2014 election map where Gov. Abbott won by almost 20 points over Wendy Davis to see where you have the public support.
I am a member of a group of educators and parents that support teachers, students, and public education. Our group currently has over 13000 members and is growing every day by leaps and bounds. We can and will vote only for those politicians that support our beliefs. We are currently compiling data that will help us decide who we intend to vote for in the next primary and election. Educators comprise one of the largest groups in Texas and we will use our votes for those candidates that support public education, staff, parent... read more
With all due respect sir, as a former LEO, I relay think the legalization of carrying long bladed knives is NOT a good idea.It has been against the law for years for very good reasons.
If I could give you a Zero, I would but unfortunately you have turned your back on all Texans. It's a shame. Most people had some sort of hope for you, but no, like most typical politicians, you've failed us. We need a replacement. One that cares and has true compassion for the people of his state, you sir, are not that person.
I voted for you to represent ME. I assumed you would address the needs that would positively affect ME. I know this post seems like I am only focused on ME...well, I guess I am! I started college after the age of 40 after raising my three children. Even though I worked full-time, I still managed to earn my teaching degree in 4 years with a 4.0 GPA. I assumed all the sacrifices I made to obtain this goal would secure my future...you know...I was doing the right thing for me and my family. Fulfilling the American Dream...work ... read more
Here's a thought for everyone - school districts across the state are told to do one thing, "make your students able to pass the STAAR test". No one is truly teaching anymore. Summer school comes around and guess what, kids are being told that as soon as they pass that test, they don't need to show up anymore. Where is the education in that? Not to mention, summer school because you failed the STAAR test - free. Summer school because you failed a class or need credits - nope, you're going to pay for that one. Really?.... Wer... read more
I understand about keeping voters, but the Governor's Office should be religiously neutral and inactive in the area of religion. It appears to me that rich white Christians are the only people that matter in an election. Everyone else gets lip service only.
his refusal for medical marijuana is joke at this point . this state could use all that money that CO. and other are making but no he wants to be a stick in the mud and at this point he useless
Pastor Abbott why do you deny choose to be ignorant and ignore the facts regarding the medicinal value of cannabis? Why do you deny the facts concerning climate change? And most importantly, why don't you listen to the people of Texas? The majority of Texans want an all natural herbal medicine instead of a fatal lab based pill. Your lack of action is causing people to suffer. I would have a hard time living like that. But of course you chose faith over reason.
