A special belated thank you for an absolutely lovely Festive afternoon tea in December for both myself and my friend 🥰 Firstly, as someone who is a Coeliac but also dairy and egg intolerant .. and just for added difficulty, I’m vegetarian , I was assured that this would not be an issue. I’ve been here three times with my family and it’s been incredible, until today. Stopped in for lunch with my husband, mother in law and toddler and what a disaster it was. First of all, it was absolutely freezing cold in the cafe, so much so that I had to put extra clothes on my toddler who was absolutely freezing even in a thick jumper. Then it took 30+ minutes to get food and they completely forgot about my son’s meal leaving him screaming while we received ours. This is our place for a family (3 generations) treat - Food is always good and the ambience warm and homely - We always feel at home and the staff are friendly and approachable.. Especially Susannah who was the first member of staff we met (several years ago when she worked in the cafe) and now greets us like family every time we visit - she has watched our daughter grow and always makes every effort to make us all feel welcome and comfortable Love the play space too!
