It was so lovely to stop off here on our way home, the staff were so lovely. It is a shame there were no ramps ro access the castle, but it was worth a stop to see the outside and have an early lunch.
I recently visited Goodrich Castle with my wife and, as a wheelchair user, I was prepared for some limitations. While I was unable to enter the castle itself due to its historic structure, I was pleasantly surprised by how accessible the rest of the site was. The approach road leading right up to the castle entrance is level and easy to navigate, which allowed me to get some fantastic photos directly in front of the castle's impressive gatehouse. Extremely impressive castle ruin, plenty to explore and towers to climb although the spiral to the tower roof is extremely narrow and steep.
Beautiful scenery, stunning old castle that reminds me strongly of the tower of London and extremely knowledgeable and friendly guides. The shop had very cool items like gauntlets, helmets, etc which were surprisingly cheap. Well worth the visit
