7 years ago I went into sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 47. I was blessed to have a husband who started CPR immediately and a local police officer with an AED machine in his vehicle and he was able to re-start my heart. Since that time I have learned that only 6% of the population that suffer from sudden cardiac arrest have survived. Since the beginning I ha... read more

I am a person who has lived with Congestive Heart Failure for 10 years and I believe that information is knowledge, and when you know what to do you can do better with doing the right thing as far as your heart is concerned. I was born with a congenital heart defect call ASD. Thank God for angina. The doctor's at the ER sent me to Cardiac Institute of the South to see a cardiologists. The cardiologists performed test that found my heart defect when I was 48 years old. My first grandson was born that same day. I had surgery to repair this on February 2014. I am doing well and my heart is better. My cardiovascular surgeon used an implant to seal the hole in my heart. The surgery was very successful.
