Go Red For Women did a lot to help me after I had a heart transplant in 2009.They helped me in my long recovery and i made new friends at Go Red events.

I am all for Go Red For Women, more women need to be made aware of the the silent killer known as heart disease. For years all the focus as always been on men. Women have hearts too. I believe women are more at risk than men. We have a lot more weighing on your hearts. We are mothers and wives, also working women, which in turn means more responsibility. I suffered a heart attack at 51 and it was in my sleep I didn't know it for a couple of days. Finally got to my dr. who sent me to an emergency room. I have a Defib now and an amazing cardiologist. My heart works at 35% capacity. I'm a survivor.
