I just joined the #GoRedGetFit Challenge on FaceBook and I'm SO happy I did.... heart disease runs in both of my parents' family histories and I suffered from Angina a few years ago and was always an avid walker.... fast forward to today and I am 52, overweight and getting Angina again so this challenge is what I needed to get back my health.... thank you American Heart Association for all that you do to inspire others to take care of their <3 health and overall health!! :)

I just found out that I have high blood pressure and high heart rate. Also have minor valve issues. It's all good but have to keep a watch on it all.

I think what your doing is Awesome in getting the word out how Important it is to know your body and understand the sigh's of a Heart Attack or Stroke so that ladies can get checked and be Survivior's of this disase. Feb. 5, 2008 I suffered my 1st of 3 massive MI's in 3 weeks. I was 33. I had 99% blockage in my LAD which reached 100% blocked by the time the Ambulance got me to the hospital that had a Cath. Lab. My heart stopped twice. Stent placed. Was told I was going to die, probably by 40. At this time I was 6ft tall, 340lbs, Cholesterol 140. I was diagnosed with hypertension at age 21...they don't know what the cause is and there is no permanent cure...Doctors have told me I'm just a "ticking time bomb" smh...I love this campaign! <3

I think it is a good way to help educate women about heart issues. I had Open Heart Surgery 7 weeks ago to repair my Mitral and Tricuspid valves that were leaking. So far the surgery has helped, but I'm still recovering. I had no idea there was anything wrong with my heart. I had all the signs, occasional shortness of breath, swelling in my legs and feet.
