Glenlockhart is a treasure with every comfort and beautifully decorated! After seeing this historical former “ gardener’s cottage” online, transformed into a delightful home-from-home, I was determined and excited that we too would visit and enjoy the tranquillity it offers. We were able to enjoy meals together with close friends and our daughters’ family celebrating twin granddaughters in Edinburgh. We've had 4 wonderful, peace filled days in the beautifully located Glenlockhart Cottage. Decorated and fitted with everything we needed to a very high standard, we immediately felt at home here. Cindy and Paul really have thought of everything. We loved the goody basket and treats supplied on arrival! The suggestions of places to go and things to see and do is very comprehensive and helpful! Glenlockhart cottage is a delightful quiet place to stay when visiting Edinburgh. It is in a lovely setting, and is beautifully furnished and well equipped. The good public transport means once parked in the cottage's safe off road parking you can get out and about without the hassle or great expense of parking in the city.
If you're looking for luxury accommodation, hidden away from the hustle and bustle, but within close proximity of Edinburgh, then Glenlockhart Cottage should be top of your list. The owners Cindy and Paul, are superb hosts, and have thought of everything to make your stay a home from home experience (and more). The warm welcome from our hosts relaxed us from the word go especially after a horrendously wet & windy journey across country. We completely fell in love with the cottage and appreciated all the amazing special extras from the very pretty Christmas tree to the wine cooling in the fridge and the wonderful hamper of goodies.
