Came here to treat myself to something to eat. The food was served fridge cold which rendered some of the dishes tasteless. A real shame. The bar lacks any real ambiance which was unexpected from somewhere that has lots of potential.
This charming 18th-century coaching inn offers a classic Highland experience. Its location is unbeatable, set amidst mature gardens right on the shores of Loch Shiel. The lounge bar, with its crackling fire and deep armchairs, is the perfect place to enjoy a dram after a day of exploring. The food in the restaurant is superb, focusing on local, seasonal produce like Loch Shiel salmon and West Coast langoustines. It feels wonderfully traditional and authentically Scottish.
Perfect place to stay if you're visiting the viaduct. The hotel is steeped in history and their everyday pleasant staff are happy to tell you about it. They seem to want to know their guests and try to make personal connections. We visited with a young toddler, and everyone on staff we spoke to simply wanted to make her trip pleasant.
