I like the appeal of being able to go to Fry's for all my computer parts. However, it's absolutely unacceptable to have to sit on hold trying to speak with an associate for over 30 minutes before finally giving up and hoping I'm back in the area soon. Their website's search filter doesn't give me the ability to search for a specific hard drive size that I need to run Clonezilla properly and at this rate I'm better off ordering one from a competitor.
WORST EVER PURCHASE EXPERIENCE. NEVER AGAIN!!! THOSE GUYS WILL SELL YOU DEFECTIVE STUFF, NO THEY DON'T WANT TO TEST IT IN THE STORE TO PROOF THAT IT WORKS, AND THEN BALME YOU FOR BREAKING IT, AND DON'T WANT TO REPLACE IT. STAY AWAY!!! TO SAY THEY ARE CROOKS THAT WOULD BE THE UNDERSTANTEMENT OF THE YEAR
The only pro about Fry's is their prices. Their merchandise pick up model is archaic. Why don't they just send carrier pigeons or smoke signals to the warehouse? My husband extensively researched then reserved an item on fry's website, we drove an hour to pick it up, brought the receipt to the register, the cashier had to walk away to find someone to go get it. We will never return to this store. We were looking at higher and cameras and the young young man helping us was rude and was rushing us to the point where we just walked out of the store did not make a purchase. We went to Best Buy in Alpharetta and bought what we needed at a lower price of $2500
Beware of these 3 Rude People, Mimi Huynh, Krishna and her associate in Computer section - also Asian, who claims to be the manager of that section - They lie saying an item is not available, or a discount is not available and then they argue - The Over all Manager is nice guy (great guy), but then if these individuals don't represent what you and FRYs value for - why keep them around - Thanks to the Overall Manager and Brandon - My day was saved.
Their salesmen are liars about their price match guarantee. I went into the store and the department manager told me he could match any online price. I returned to the store with an online merchant's lower price, and suddenly the manager's story changed. Furthermore, despite their giant signs throughout the store indicating that Fry's will pay the sales tax, the sales rep felt the need to tell me that "by GA statute, you have to pay the sales tax."
