What a wonderful meal. Good vegetarian choice and the mushrooms for the starter were superp! Really friendly service too. Booked this last minute and they were super nice and welcoming.
The food was okay. Not really anything special in my opinion, certainly not worth what they charge. My fish didn’t have any flavour and was quite mushy. My partner compared his steak to something you would get in Aldi. Nothing that great. Chips were nice and the presentation was great. We ordered a brownie for dessert and asked for a takeaway box. In the heart of Penrith this small but welcoming little hotel is full of charm and character while embracing sleek modernity. Every detail seems to have been considered. A lovely eatery and bar on the ground floor with further dining upstairs which leads you through winding corridors to the handful of comfortable and well-equipped bedrooms.
