Came for a Saturday lunch during our visit to DC. Absolutely the best execution of Chicken n Waffles I've ever had! The sides were also on point! Mac n Cheese and fresh green beans that just snapped! Srevice at the bar was great too!

I've heard a lot about this place and it was at the top of my list for when I [finally] got to visit Washington. We made reservations several days before coming to Washington to make sure we had a table. We arrived 5-10 minutes before. We waited about 20-25 minutes after our reservation time before asking...they were still sitting people who had reservations for 20 minutes earlier. I Can't say my food was "excellent", rather "very good". Still, I have to rate it 3 stars because it's not only not kid friendly it's almost kid unfriendly. I am likely to try it again but for dinner... Without my children.
I loved how fast we were seated without without reservations -- the hostess said we could have a table if we could be in and out in 1 hour. Awesome. Done. The Brie and cornbread was awesome, the fried green tomatoes --AMAZING. My wife's Yankee Pot roast -- delicious. Food came out super fast, so fast unfortunately, that my some of my scallops were undercooked and I threw up half the night. Also the butternut risotto was disappointingly bland. We have eaten here two of the past three days! It's THAT good! Burgers, meat loaf, grilled cheese and tomato soup, deviled eggs, chocolate shakes, hand-made sodas, and corn bread in a skillet. Everything was very tasty and the service was excellent both days! The Friday we were there, our wait for a table for three was only 15-20 minutes for a mid-afternoon lunch. We made reservations for our party of seven today and we were seated on time for our reservation. Definitely recommended for a fun place to eat!
RecommendedThe BEST meal we have had in a long time! Jose our waiter was amazing and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend the cornbread and carrot cake!
