Can’t speak highly enough of the team who came to our rescue last minute as our boat was cancelled to Orkney. A true hidden gem that we will definitely plan to stop at again. We stayed in the Granary cottage which was a beautifully restored piece of architecture. Thank you so much guys!

We stayed here in October 2023 as an overnight before catching the ferry to Orkney. Alas, high seas cancelled our ferry, but the Forss House Hotel was wonderful! Friendly staff, delicious meals, tasty drams, comfortable and luxurious rooms, and a glorious and wild setting in the countryside. We will visit here again! Update: we stayed and dined at Forss House again in May 2025 and it was as lovely as before. And this time we were able to take the ferry to Orkney. Hooray!

My husband and I were gifted a surprise one night stay at Forss House Hotel late last month. What a beautiful venue, our room overlooked the lovely waterfall, and our walk along the Forss River to the sea was an unexpected pleasure. A highlight was the dinner, so beautifully presented and delectable. In fact we were not rushed so could really savour each course. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. I hope to be back when I next visit Scotland.
