First time visit this weekend. Maybe it would have been better if we had known more about the place. Overall it was a good weekend getaway. My daughter loved the mini golf and the pool. I liked the location. The lodge rooms had tiny bathrooms and not very good water pressure. Smoking is allowed anywhere outside on the property so we had people smoking on the balcony beneath us - ugh. If we had a cabin or room with a kitchenette and we could have brought some food, I think we would have liked it more. Not many food options - ... read more

Most awesome place that time dare not touch�. The setting is beautifully amazing and very quaint...no hustle bustle here! Staff and service superb..only to be matched by one of the most memorable breakfasts I've ever had! Do not plan on phone service or Internet..thank goodness ! Loved it as a child...more in love with it today.

We enjoyed our stay at the Fontana Resort. We stayed in a Willow Cabin. We were not to upset about the Carpenter Ants, we knew we were in the woods, but we had something gnawing a wall all the time, and the cabin seemed to suffer from some neglect. Don't expect to be connected to the outside world. No data or cell phone signal will be had, and there are no phones in the cabins. The Wi-Fi is spotty at best, and the local cable doesn't even have a weather channel.

We love staying here. Feels like home. Staff are kind and accommodating. Only thing we didn't like was the food at the Wildwood Grill. We had the chips and salsa and blackened chicken taco salad. Chips were stale, though the salsa was good. The taco salad bowl was greasy, but the salad was good.

We've enjoyed our stay here. The restaurants/bars are great, staff is very friendly, the rooms are nice and clean, the atmosphere is very welcoming, the lobby is spacious, outside areas are very nice and plentiful, everything is within walking distance.

There were so many bats in the attic of cabin1052, that after we counted 50 coming out of the front roof vent we stopped counting. When they returned they were scratching and making noise we didn't sleep. We were on motorcycles, and you couldn't get in or out of the driveway without a major hassle. Others in our group were moved 3 times in 24 hours due to room problems.
