I decided to take a day trip to Boone, I wanted to do something fun for the kids as well. Foggy Mountain Gem Mine turned out to be a great choice. This was our first gem mining experience and my 5 and 9 year old had a blast, it was a fun for myself as well. Watching them discover the different type of gems with the hopes of finding real gold turned out to be a wonderful and educational time for all.
Great place and super nice staff that were very educated on the stones.
Hubby had a good time mining for precious gems today. Got a large bucket and ended up with 2.5 quart plastic bags of precious stones. Enjoyed the scenery and the nice folks who work there.
Me and my wife really enjoyed stopping in, we will be back and we are bringing the family with.
Nice place. Friendly staff. A little pricey for my taste.
