My family visited today and I can say without a shadow of a doubt was the best one we have been to. We got the "Big Daddy" for the 4 of us and we all walked away with a bag full :). Not to mention, they meet with you afterwards and go through all of your rocks and tell you what you have as well as information about the rocks. They were very well educated. It was just a lot of fun and a great experience!
Came here with my husband while we were on our honeymoon. Found some amazing gems and had a few cut. Received my beautiful set ring the other day. Would definitely recommend adding this place to your traveling stops!

Visited here last week on our final day in North Carolina and we had a blast! Cant wait for my cut gems to come in the mail! We were in town on our honeymoon and purchased a motherlode bucket and we found a ton!
My wife and I went there today as a spur of the moment thing. I found Foggy Mountain on the web and we just went. The staff was great, most of all Jessie she was great helped us get set up then after we were done sifting through our bucket she helped us separate our gems and told us what was what. She in our opinion went beyond our expectations as far as even letting me use their stool to set because I just had surgery and couldn't stand for to long. I've always wanted to take my kids to "mine" for gems, and when we finally got the chance, Foggy Mountain did not disappoint, and my kids are teens! The staff is friendly and knowledgable--not to mention a couple of guys in kilts! � We came home with lots of gems, and a fun memory. When my cut rose quartz cabs came in, I was thrilled. I can't wait to turn them into a piece of jewelry for me to remember a great trip and a special time playing in the dirt. We hope to get back soon!
Our fourth year coming here and as alway we find some amazing gem's. Great staff!! Great time!! Can't wait to come back.
