I have purchased from FM for years but I will never order from them again. They want the original label to return an item. I just placed an order for $248 with 39 little labels in it. WTH??? How does a person store all those labels. I sort and price my things when I get them, put them in easy-open baggies and store them. I don't keep all that packaging! I used to always have a five star experience with fmg, but their new return policy is total bunk! When I called to return 80.00 worth of defective ss ear wires the customer service representative was extremely rude and condescending to me. I used to only order from fmg but this new 90 day return policy has me going other places. Bought item nbr H20-A1981CL bead mix of 50 strands sizes 3 -15mm, have to say I was somewhat disappointed in the batch that I got, as all the strands were from 3mm to 8mm with the bulk being 3mm and 6mm. I bought this exact same item in January of this year and it had such a lovely selection of colours and sizes. This current batch had way to much green coloured stones and hardly any other colours. Disappointed!
Purchased swavorski stones to glue in earring casing for bridesmaids at sisters wedding. Magazine said all stones had silver backs unless stated. Ordered and none had silver backs, in a time crunch I decided to work around it and ultimately didn't work. Instead of demanding a refund or anything other than an explanation I was told it was the company's fault for false advertisement. I love their selection and their catalog. Fire Mountain Gems customer service is very disappointing. I ordered some beads by weight awhile ago. It said approximately 40 to 60 beads. I got 13, they were huge and completely unsuitable for jewelry. When I called about it they told me I could mail it back and pay a restocking fee to get a refund.
Like FMG quite a bit but hate the tiered buying they switched to. I used to get the price break buying 10 of an item. Now I have to buy 100 asst. items. I went from buying from them exclusively to buying from a lot of other sources. Their quality is great but for some stuff it is just as good elsewhere so I buy a lot less overall from them now.
