Needed a clasp replaced on a very ordinary (but sentimental) gold chain bought from a different jewelers many years ago. Despite the low value of my request, the owner took the time to closely examine the necklace and advised it would need to be sent to their workshop to be fixed properly. I was given a price range (dependent on how tricky the fix was), and ended up being charged well below the higher estimate.
