In October of 2020 I purchased a vehicle from a local ***** dealership and this was the finance company. In August of 2021 I sold the vehicle to ****** and paid the loan in full. Exeter mailed me a letter stating the obligation was satisfied and loan closed out, they then reported the loan as a charge-off on my credit report which I'm disputing and working on retaining legal representation to file a lawsuit against them! If you have a loan with them... get someone new ASAP! This company operates illegally !
I always make my payments on time, but for some reason they dont post on time, and I end up getting charged a late fee. Then I have to contact support just to get it removed. Its frustrating. On top of that, their website is awful, every time I try to log in from my desktop, it wont load. The only way I can access it is by using Chromes incognito mode and refreshing the page multiple times. The whole experience is terrible.
From the beginning I was disappointed with the experience. APR% is high, and lead me to believe that Exeter Finance prays on who are in financial turmoil. Paperwork and terms aren't clear, unexpected fees and conditions. Speaking to someone is impossible, especially someone that speaks clear English. The only time you get to speak to someone is when you're late on your bill and good gracious they'll call you a million times. **************** is not a honest company they charge my 34% on a ****** car with ***** down payment I pay ****** for 1 year and decided to pay of the balance with my lump sum. They charge me ****** to pay off dis loan.
I bought my car from Exeter while I was coaching in ******** in 2023. I had to move back to ***** after the passing of my father in the beginning of 2024. I let Exeter know this and that I would not be making the same amount of income as a result. I have a car loan with Exeter Finance. I found out that Exeter Finance has been engaged in misappropriation of funds, fraud, predatory lending, and extortion. There is currently quite a few class action lawsuits active for the same exact malfeasances Ive been experiencing with Exeter Finance. I got scammed into cosigning loan for my brother who failed to make his car payments. In talking to ****** from Exeter finance I was assured that if I paid off the car the title would be put in my name only. I sent Exeter the money only to be told the title is coming to me in my brother's name. They lied to me specifically ****** lied to me to get my money which I could not afford but I paid anyway. They over charging me on car payments and set it up were I half to pay for a protection plan for my car and I cant even use it because the place were I got my vehicle from was bought out 8 months ago and no one sent out letters or anything so Im paying for something I can even use
Do not get a loan with this company they do not have a pay out plan for your vehicle after making payments on time for 5yrs with a balance of $3000.00 and needing to make necessary car repairs in this economy would help with reducing my pay off amount but no was the answer, no kind of compromise.
