Good hotel for groups as has family rooms, a large lounge area with bar and beautiful grounds. Good, friendly service. But the family rooms and many areas of the hotel are desperately in need of some money spending on them. Chair at breakfast was falling apart, bathroom door wouldn't shut, wardrobe falling apart, shower leaked, toilet very hard to flush, old fashioned shower head over bath with separate taps that are very difficult to balance to get a good temperature. This place is the definition of style over substance, and even the “style” is questionable. The building itself is dated and tired, and the first impression walking into the lounge was stained sofas that looked like they’d been there since the 80s. Hardly the setting for a so-called “high-end” restaurant. The menu prices are completely laughable. £28.50 for a piece of cod? This is not fine dining, that’s just straight robbery. Onze kamer keek uit op dak waar dampkap keuken gelegen was. Vanaf 6u45 tot 21u30 was er geluid en geur hiervan.
