If I could, I would give a worse rating. The only decent thing about the Equity apartment is maintenance staff. Lack of response, stolen packages, broken cars, broken elevators, broken garage doors, management staff changing faster than one can imagine, trash services increasing many fold, increasing rent, locking into unreasonable lease terms,....its just non stop.

Equity residential are absolute crooks. I lived in Parkwest Apartments in **. The apartments are old and in disrepair. They are full of mold and leak when it rains. Staff is constantly changing and 90 percent of them are useless. The appliances are old and in disrepair. The whole place is dirty. I got out of there when my lease ended and they stole my security deposit. Equity Residential will steal your security deposit guaranteed

Equity Residential has proven to be nothing but unethical. We had a great 3 years living in the ******** in ***, we loved the people that worked there and had a great time initially, but in the last months of our time there everything deteriorated and amongst other issues, we were left with enormous leakage damage that caused our floorboard to swell up. This was not repaired for weeks (until after we moved out). Now we find out a year later that they sent an amount that we supposedly owed to a collections agency, without rea... read more

Horrible place. Sat up an inspection appointment with them to remedy any problems that are found in order to avoid deductions to our security deposit but no one showed up even with appointment confirmation and based on ****** court is "required", then after we moved out, we were slapped with a $1,300+ fee. Also avoid parking out side near their trees, they cut down branches and broken my car's left side mirror and didn't even bother to leave a note. Also better get used fire alarms goes off constantly for no reason. Look els... read more

I lived at westerly for 3 years 2018-2021. It is the shady thrift store of apartments, management and neighborhoods. I would recommend a westerly apartment for new graduates and young teen adults willing to live with several roommates. For adults aged mid 20s or older, the immaturity of the neighbors and the infancy of the apartment management is blatantly intolerable. Recommendations:Be aware of the deep facade, and look beyond the shallow cosmetics. Westerly management, will be artificially friendly and seductive before yo... read more

I moved in to 3003 Van Ness St, NW, DC March 2021 (west tower) and by night one, my sole bathroom was filled with weed smoke that seeps into the rest of our unit. I called the front desk (the building complex is supposed to be entirely smoke-free) and was told they are separate contractors who can't do anything and to contact the leasing office. After sending multiple emails with NO response, I called the leasing office and was told to be patient, they are "working on it" (no further description), and to track when the smoke... read more

Upon arrival of new management, Chantera **** my monthly rent bill was consistently incorrect. When I signed the lease in May 2020 I was given one year of no fee parking from the past manager in writing. Ms. **** voiced her concerns and anger regarding the agreement of no fee parking for one year. So consistently each month from I believe June, July, August, October the monthly rent due was incorrect. I would have to e-mail, call, e-mail and e-mail again until it was corrected so that I could pay the rent. She would charge m... read more

I was a resident at Lane Apartments. My $1,200 ebike was stolen in their paid custodial bike locker. When I moved out I was sent a bill for an "early move out" and they were claiming the end date of my lease was later than the one noted on my lease. They said my deposit was only $400, when it was really $500. Terrible company.
