Was given a room with a view (a road!), plug sockets hanging off, air con unit broke and front metal part is hanging off, no shower door, bathroom door battered and doesn't lock the list of things wrong with this hotel is endless. Rooftop pool closed for maintenance, spa/gym (which consists of running machines) is closed. Was woken up early hours of the morning by maintenance men drilling walls in the corridors who then came back and continued drilling at 11:15pm! Decent hotel, but they don't keep their word. Had reservations for two nights in June. Hotel had a power/water issue that shut it down. Next morning we were told no time could be given on when power and water would be restored and had to find other lodgings. We were assured of a full refund of room charges. This hotel didn't honor their promise and refused to reimburse for the second night. There are plenty of nice places in NY to stay. I'd steer clear of this one.
Incredibly disappointed! Here are just a few issues: rooftop pool was closed, ac in room barely keeping room cool, waiting forever to get service at rooftop bar.
They charge €10 per device per day for wiFi in your room.. you have to go to the lobby to connect which I think is outrageous for the price you pay for the room. Rooms are nice but very small and the bathrooms are damp and there is a lot of water damage. Good location but I'm not sure if I'll be back.
Check in isn't until 3 which, we ordered 2 rooms and didn't get the second until 4pm. The rooms and bathroom were very small, barely any storage or room to open a suit case in the double rooms. The single room was bigger but the bathroom was still just as small. Our biggest issue was that the wifi (that you pay for) is incredibly slow, almost too slow to send an email. So disappointed in our recent stay at the Empire! We chose to stay at the Empire, because of the close proximity to the dance intensive that my daughter was attending. After looking at the photos on the website, I was very excited about our visit. Wow...pictures can be deceiving!! We were there for seven nights and only had housekeeping service our room twice, even after placing the "please service room" sign on the door each day. We booked this hotel bc it was convenient to to the location of my husband's conference. The front door staff is great...after that, I'm not really impressed. We have our two boys and they really want to swim-but apparently, if it might rain anytime that day, they don't open the pool. Secondly, our AC isn't working and it's blazing hot in here. They sent a fan but it barely puts out any air...they said they will be moving us to a different room later today, hopefully that will be the case...
