Emory Hospital you are denying a life-saving kidney transplant from a matched and available donor to a two-year-old child AJ Burgess Dickerson. How cruel and inhumane. Emory Hospital states that they operate under core values, with their first core value being: caring. Caring: We demonstrate concern and compassion for our patients and their families, treating each person with dignity as we attend to the needs of the mind, body, and spirit. Denying a life-saving surgery to a family and child in need is not demonstrating conce... read more

Is your job not to save lives??? A.J. Burgess deserves the right to live. Shame on you for even having to consider how to proceed with this situation.

I am the recipient of a kidney transplant from my sister whose surgery was also delayed by our hospital. Why are you putting this little boy and his family through more stress and pain then his condition already gives them ? Three months and you will review? Three more months of dialysis for a child and you are good with that. All the other good you do at your hospital is wiped away by your callous decision. Shame on all of you involved in this.

What a sorry excuse for denying this child a kidney he desperately needs. If it was a white child I know they would find a way for that child to get that kidney from his dad. Their reason is racist and bigoted. Yes, I am using the race card because we ALL know this would NEVER have been an issue if it was a white child and his father violated his probation. SHAME ON EMORY HOSPITAL!!! Their job is to SAVE lives not cherry-pick which lives they want to save based on race..

As a graduate of Emory University and a former patient within the Emory Healthcare system, I am embarrassed and angered by Emory Hospital's refusal to move forward with the life-saving transplant for AJ Dickerson. Reverse this decision NOW and allow the procedure.

You deny a 2 year old child a kidney based on his father's parole/probation status? What law does that fall under? What branch of government monitors parental parole status, in relation to medical care for children? This is nothing more than White Supremacist mandated genocide at work!

How dare y'all make that little baby suffer and pay the price for whatever his father did I couldn't care less WTH the father did doesn't mean that child has to die for what his father did if that little boy dies I hope whoever is over the division that made this decision goes to prison for murder cause that little baby's life is in your hands!!! #Healaj

You should be ashamed! This child's death is 100% on this hospitals hands if he dies because you can't get your heads out your behinds. You are a hospital your job is to treat people not dictate what people do outside your hospital to receive that treatment. If this baby dies or suffers further complications from being forced to wait over something that has nothing to do with the kidney or life in question I hope you are sued into the dirt. You WILL lose that case because the whole world will know exactly why you let a child... read more
