I am really concerned about the lack of urgency I witnessed first hand tonight. When you are told "be right back with pain meds" and that "be right back" is 45 minutes later but still then it's only prompted because you had to go to the nurses' station to ask what's going on with the pain meds? Unacceptable!

My wife went through hip replacement surgery at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital ...what an amazing Hospital ...and the staff are wonderful. Clearly, this Hospital is eastern North Carolina's best kept secret. We couldn't be happier with the treatment, and Wednesday is fried chicken day in the Cafe' mmmmm!

Well, usually I opt to go to Vidant Edgecombe if I am in need of emergency services. And generally I leave feeling as though my needs have been met. Yesterday however that unfortunately wasn't the case. Although I was triaged quickly, there were no rooms available. And after sitting in the waiting room for more than 3 hours the pain that initially brought me to the ER had resolved or at least become tolerable.
