Duke enacted a $30 minimun electrical charge starting in 2022. This completely neutralized my solar production and investment. I produce more power than I use and get a check for the difference each year. That is now gone. Duke mgmt. is horrible for passing this new rule.I was a happy Duke solar production customer, with panels on my roof and now am an anger dissatisfied customer.
I feel that duke energy is over charging doing the winter months. I live in a small apartment and I keep my thermostat on 74 the whole winter with it on auto I'm not responsible for my whole apartment building only my apartment
Have solar panels every month my **** is $22.61 paid the December ****.now my January **** is $101.62 adding Decembers **** that I already paid called Duke Energy and all Im getting is a runaround.

We are a small business, operating with 6 employees. Our local Duke Energy does business with us. They are great! However, those at the corporate office- not so much. They make it very difficult to get paid. They require us to submit invoices for them. That would be great if our POS system wasn't 50 years old, and we had access to the internet from our POS. I bought a foreclosure home where the previous owner had been in default of payment to Duke. I called and asked them to please go out, install a meter, and begin the service in my name. They gave me a date (a week ago) and told me I was all set. However, they didn't go out and start the service. I called them, and was transferred 3 times, put on hold for 45 minutes, and on the last transfer, there was no one available. One person said the address was flagged, so I asked what I need to do. Bad billing practices by 3rd party billing company and duke energy
I was informed by a Supervisor on a recorded conversation that Duke Energy charges an extra 5% for Usage when a thermostat is set above 68 degrees, the Monopoly this company has on the *********************** and it's major cities is ridiculous and something about this seems un ethical and whatever lobbyist is benefiting from this should be ashamed of themselves
Worst power companey and worst customer service. Complained about our ********************** grid for years and they wont fix it,even their own line crews said the grid i am on is junk and needs major repairs and duke wont fix it
