EXTREMELY rude customer service! All the bills are on my card and in my name. I make timely payments every month and my bill is 3x higher than all my neighbors and they can't explain to me why this is because my wife's name is the primary.
I am (was) enrolled in auto pay and the equal monthly payment plan. Once or twice a year, more money will need to draft from my account than what my normal payment plan is, which is understandable considering that through the winter and summer I may use more electricity to heat, cool, etc... I received notification that in order for my payment to process I need to change my payment amount threshold that I had set on my account. I THOUGHT THEY WERE A DECENT COMPANY. UNTIL THESE SMART METERS ARE BECOMING AN ISSUE. HUSBAND HAS PACEMAKER, HEART MACHINE ETC BEEN ADVISED BY DR NOT TO BE AROUND THEM. SO,OPTED OUT OF SMART METER, INSTALLATION FEE, YOU HAVE TO PAY AND EXTRA $15 AND CHANGE FOR THEM TO READ YOUR METER. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT IT BEING A MEDICAL ISSUE.I WILL FIND PROPER PERSON TO SPEAK TO DISABLED AND NOT A BIG CHECK DO I DRAW A MONTH AND NOW THEY WANT TO MAKE THINGS EVEN HIGHER FOR ME. AND EVERY-ONE ELSE THAT'S ENCOUNTERING THIS ISSUE.
Log in to view bill as none have showed up in the mail - they want a payment of $125 - click view bill as I've never had a bill more than $60. It requires that you enroll in online billing to view the bill. Call Duke - oh look they have no way of providing a bill or anyone to speak to because it's the weekend. Give in and enroll online - option to view bill is no longer a working link. Duke Energy is literally the scum on the bottom of your shoe.
Power goes out at ******* ***** * *********(27403 zip code) every time it rains - for about 28 houses. Duke Power never addresses the source of the problem, just gets the lights on until the wind blows or it rains again. I’ve lost count of the outage number since I bought my house 15 years ago. 2nd day in a row this week. Miserable customer concern in the quality of their infrastructure. Unfortunately they are the only electricity option. Meanwhile they’ve requested rates hikes....
I wish i could give them 0 stars! My ex wife was allowed to use my social and get power in her name, she has since no paid the bill and mow its on my credit report! I have filed chargers with the police. Duke Energy has now allowed her to take my name off the account but they have my name still in the history of the account, they still have not reported this to the collection company they use so therefore its still affecting my credit score! The worst customer service I have ever experienced and it is that way every time I call! No one can give you answers or help you. The people that I needed answers from do not even talk to customers. Our very firat bill was wrong and I tried to simply get it fixed. After countless calls and FOUR different bills for the same month (the first month), they still charged more than they were supposed to. They do not care about their customers at all!
