Dr. Phatak is a thorough and detailed Gastroenterologist. As a patient with Chrohns disease for 12+ years, my treatment plan has kept me in remission from further disease progression. Dr. Phatak offers virtual visits, and is very easy to communicate with through the office portal. I would highly recommend Dr. Phatak and her staff. Nurses are wonderful as well!
She shouldn’t be a doctor. She won’t give you results, she’ll tell you it’s all in your head and that you need a therapist, and she’ll keep your medical records from other doctors as well as spill her opinion of you to other doctors. She also decided to try to trick me into doing the procedure again the next day not even 30 seconds after I woke up from anesthesia... Follow up EGD following Gastric ulcers. Never spoke to Dr. Phatak after the procedure. Having great difficulty getting any results. In spite of their claim that nothing was wrong and the ulcers have healed, continue to have stomach discomfort and minor pain since the procedure. The procedure took twice as long as usual and the only comment was that there was a complication. Staff at Haymarket Medical Center were not helpful. Dr. Arnold is fantastic. He's warm and friendly and easy to talk to. Before I saw him, I had terrible constipation that meant I often didn't have a bowel movement for a week or more. His prescription was perfect and it fixed my problem right away. I feel so much better since starting to see him. I'd highly recommend him to anyone seeking his service and I have recommended to friends and family members who have all felt the same way I do.
Absolutely terrible bedside manner. Rude, insensitive and unwelcoming. She didn't make eye contact with my elderly 84 year old Mom when she was doing her initial consult. Instead, she sat at her laptop, and faced the opposite direction when she was taking her notes. This made difficult for my Mom to hear and was compounded by the fact that my Mom is already hard of hearing, a common limitation among the elderly population. Dr. Arnold and his staff were very professional and friendly! My colonoscopy process went smoother than I expected, especially after having one 20 years ago which wasn't too bad, but more uncomfortable. The self-pay installment plan makes the costs easier to manage. Thumbs up to Advanced Digestive Care!
Dr was fine. Office ethics are abysmal. I went in for a 5 year follow up screening. Dr agreed screening was due after looking at previous charts. Prep for procedure was an awe full cocktail of over the counter items. Literally worse than any stomach virus I’ve ever had. After procedure I was billed incorrectly, which meant $1000 out of pocket rather than fully covered. Dr. Arnold is exceptional. He is friendly, knowledgeable, informative and has a great sense of humor. My procedure went off without a hitch and I will continue to use him for all my Gastro needs. If I could give him 10 stars I would!
I was skeptical in the beginning due the my scheduling experience. However, on the day of my procedure, I had a change of heart! The staff, nurses, Dr. Arnold and the Anesthesiologist (sorry I forgot his name) were very friendly and through. They explained the procedure every step of the way. I highly recommend and hope that you have the same wonderful experience that I did. My husband will be there in December!
