I had my second colonoscopy with Dr. McNerney this morning and I really appreciate being a patient of his. Besides these procedures I have visited him in his office probably five or six times in the 5 years I have been acquainted with him. He listens, asks questions, if very thorough, and easy to understand. I highly recommend him and Tucson Gastroenterology if you have a need for their services. This is the worst gastrointestinal doctor I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. When i was his patient I lost so much weight 50 pounds to be exact and I have been experiencing an overall worsening of my symptoms. His PA is one of the rudest women I’ve spoken to and audibly it’s evident she dislikes me. They have mismanaged my medication so my prednisone taper at day 5 of 60mg was abruptly stopped and they were aware of my regimen. The procedure went very smoothly and Dr McNerney and his staff were professional and friendly. The post-op recovery was very quick without the grogginess of past procedures.
This was my second colonoscopy with Dr. McNerney at Tucson Gastroenterology and I couldn't be happier. The staff assistance with prep, the cleanliness of the environment, the friendliness of all involved, all helped to ease any stresses I may have had about the procedure. Dr. McNerney listened and followed up with my concerns, which I appreciated.
Tucson Gastroenterology is a well run office. Everyone from the receptionists, nurse practitioner, assistants, to Dr. McNerney are friendly and professional. I have seen Dr. McNerney for many years and I trust him completely.

I saw him because I had been suffering from stomach pains, much gas and heartburn. He recommended a scrip for the heartburn and after seeing my record of past lung cancer said 'what's going to get you is your lungs, nothing else'. What kind of doctor would say that?! He walked out and I saw him by the nurses desk and asked him what he could do for the stomach pain--he said 'Oh, I forgot--nothing'. Some doctor!
