Dr Ferkel took on saving my lower leg, ankle and foot. Even after I self diagnosed, shut down and decided I didn’t need to see a doctor. Please don’t do what I did. I risked losing my foot. While getting a Cat scan at Cedars I met a man in the waiting room who did what I did years ago, and without the luck of having Dr. Ferkel, ended up having his foot amputated because his ankle was beyond repair. Disappointed. We met in the waiting area and left feeling we were part of a computer program, rather than patients of a compassionate physician.
Once I decided to have surgery, Dr. Barcohana's team made themselves available for any and all questions, whether it was medications, post and pre-op care or dealing with insurance. The care in the hospital was also great and I felt like I was in good hands the entire time.
Very surprised with the daily check ins. Made me feel like my opinion was important.

I had a very complex foot problem and it was extremely painful. No other orthopedic surgeon could do the surgery ( the surgeons said that they couldn’t do it). MD Ferkel did the surgery for me. Im still healing but parts on my lower leg, foot and ankle feel better than before the surgery. I needed help, my foot was useless, I couldn’t work.
