Flew from Denver to have hernia surgery. Kaiser in Denver quoted me approximately $7700 so I researched more affordable options. My experience with Dr. Kravitz and his staff was exceptional. The cost of the surgery, travel, hotel, Etc came to a total of $2750. It has been 3 months since my surgery and I feel 100%.

Dr. Kravitz and his staff were great. They treated me like an intelligent human being instead of the condescending way my local medical group treated me. Even with travel expenses from central Illinois my total out-of-pocket expenses for a right inguinal hernia were under $3,000. I had a left inguinal hernia treated under Workman's Comp in 2002--it cost $23,000 back then and the anesthesiologist nearly did me in at the time, overdosing me and causing an extremely slow recovery. I am sitting up at my computer desk two days af... read more

Dr. Kravitz operated on me to remove my gallbladder. He cut my bile duct, leading to five days of intense pain and toxins leaking into my body. I was doubled over in pain and went back to Shady Grove. They paged Dr. Kravitz, who admitted what happened, called another surgeon to correct his error and charged me more than $1000 for the second visit.

We cannot comment on Dr. Kravitz's competence. However, the office did not impress us. Very bad odor when we went in, very spartan- hardly a thing on the walls, a few simple chairs, some magazines. Definitely not a "patient-oriented" waiting area. Worse, small, cheap, loud portable radio set on a HIP HOP station, inches from my right ear. Mostly static. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional. Then: we arrived in time for our 1:30 appt. At 2:00, the receptionist called back person whose appt was at 2, instead of the people b... read more

I flew from Florida to meet with Dr. Kravitz, very nice and he made sure I understood everything & kept asking if I had questions. Performed surgery next morning at Maryland Surgery Ctr. and they were all great! Flew home to Florida that afternoon from Reagan Nat'l to Ft. Myers, took van to airport and changed planes in Atlanta with long layover & NEVER had much pain or any problem. Arrived back home in FL around midnite the day of surgery--much easier than thought--Dr. Kravitz made sure I would be ok for trip and 2 nites la... read more

Dr. Kravitz did not apply any precautions for dangers of bloodclots during or after surgery on my mother. My mother died the day after a hemmoroid surgery performed by Dr. Kravitz. A simple checklist could have saved her life. Website he could have used was prevent DVT.org. My mom died an unnecessary death!!!!!!!

Dr. Kravitz repaired my inguinal hernia. He was perfectly courteous, friendly, professional, and efficient. I traveled 2 1/2 hours each way to have the surgery done by him and it was more than worth it. The cost was reasonable. The entire staff at Montgomery Surgery Center from the receptionist to the physicians, nurses, and operating room staff were also exceptional. It doesn't get any better than this. I highly recommend Dr. Kravitz and MSC if you want the best possible surgical experience.
