Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. RecommendedThe food is cheaply priced but feels like pure comfort food. I’ve been coming here since seventh grade and have since moved away from Norfolk but every time I come back it’s something I just HAVE to do.
First time coming here! This place was so amazing!! We had the best waitress!! She just put a smile on our faces. My shake and my fiance's ice cream in the waffle cone were so delicious. OMG that waffle cone!! We plan on coming back again and hoping for the same waitress!!
I always love their bbq sandwiches with slaw and jumbo limeade. yesterday they even gave me a jump when my battery went out
