Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. loved the sweetheart who came to our car and the strawberry shortcake was amazing...no wonder it's been there so long!
They are LEGENDARY for bringing people together in a delightful and historical restaurant with Americana food fare!
The bbq and ice cream sundays, milkshakes and handmade cones are the best. Best limeade too!

The barbecue sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo, is incredibly tasty and delicious! This was my first time there...we will be going back soon!
