We are the ultimate dog lovers vacation in the mountains of North Carolina. We feature luxury dog friendly cabins with hot tubs and wood burning fireplaces with spacious private fenced yards, provided dog beds, bowls, and towels. No obedience requirements, we accept all dogs regardless of temperament, breed or size. Canine Connections offers optional dog training and behavioral consults during your stay. Additional dog care services such as feeding and walks are also available.

RecommendedWe really enjoyed our recent stay at the beautiful Dogwoods Retreat! I've never seen our furbabies so relaxed and just enjoy nature as much as this place. They really enjoyed the 5.5 miles nature trail hike we did during our stay. One of our dogs doesn't really like people and the other one not so fond of other dogs, so the seclusion this cabin offered and the hiking in the area were great.
We stayed for a couple of nights with our dog reactive dog that we've dreamt of taking on a road trip. Dogwoods Retreat was exactly that. They offered everything a family could imagine for their dog away from home. This made traveling so easy. Our dog was in heaven with having his own backyard. And the dog beds were his favorite! He chose them over his own bed! He's more a couch guy and he kept choosing the dog beds over the couches... We need to get him one! We stayed in the firefly cabin so we could hike in Dupont State Park and Pisgah with our dogs. It was the large fenced yard that initially attracted us, and it didn't disappoint. The cabin was exceptionally clean inside and out, peaceful, quiet, and nicely decorated. We loved the two porches. There were many thoughtful touches - dog bowls, dog beds, tick spray, and many other housekeeping items that aren't always included in rental properties. I'm so grateful to the owners for making this a dog-friendly rental cabin!

What a beautiful location and special place to bring all of our family. Our 3 kids and 3 fur babies loved it. The Tree Frog has great views and amenities. Nan & Will give great information on area activities and dining. Even on rainy days we still managed to find plenty to do in the area. Would love to return during the spring/summer season too.
Me, my best friend, her daughter, and our two dogs booked a week stay at the Firefly cabin at DogWoods Retreat. We were so lucky as they had gotten snow and it had stuck! It looked like a winter wonderland. The cabin was absolutely stunning and clean! The beds were so comfortable. We explored DuPont state forest and hiked to High Falls. We had a wonderful time! The Firefly is lovely, lots of room, great yard for the dogs. Clean, well kept. Nan and Will are very responsive. We took advantage of Nan's skills with dogs and had her turn our dogs out so we could enjoy a tour of the Biltmore house without rushing back.
