We are the ultimate dog lovers vacation in the mountains of North Carolina. We feature luxury dog friendly cabins with hot tubs and wood burning fireplaces with spacious private fenced yards, provided dog beds, bowls, and towels. No obedience requirements, we accept all dogs regardless of temperament, breed or size. Canine Connections offers optional dog training and behavioral consults during your stay. Additional dog care services such as feeding and walks are also available.

RecommendedWhat a wonderful week we’ve had! My family and I did not want to leave. The house is spotless clean and my little Biscuit truly enjoyed the fenced backyard. Nan and Will answered my questions in such a timely manners and gave me few tips on places to visit in Brevard. The location is ideal: a few minutes drive to famous waterfalls (from the Hunter Games and the Last of the Mohicans movies). We recommend Dogwood Retreat to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay in the mountains. The thought that has gone into planning these cabins and their dog friendly atmosphere is obvious. We have stayed in White Squirrel and Tree Frog so far and both cabins were fantastic. We have a 15 year old dog and 1 year old grand dog and both love the wrap around porches that spill out into the woods behind the cabin. This was our second visit to DogWoods retreat. There definitely will be a third! Stayed in the White Squirrel cabin this time. Perfect for my older Golden Retriever because there was a ramp instead of stairs into the yard. The cabin was super clean and Nan and Will are wonderful hosts. Highly recommend!

We have stayed in Dogwoods retreat for the second year in a row. TreeFrog last year and Firefly this year. Best vacations for the family and dog. Close to downtown Brevard. Close to Pisgah, DuPont Forest and waterfall, excellent for hiking and biking vacations. Hope to go back for a third time soon!

My husband and I had an amazing time at Dogwoods Retreat. The cabins were beautiful inside and out. The location was gorgeous. Nan was a great host and gave us lots of tips and things to do in the area.
We loved our stay at Firefly! The No hassle check in was definately appreciated. I have to say it was the cleanest place, inside and out, that we have ever stayed in. It was very nice having a fully stocked kitchen and everything in working order. Our 2 Pom's truly enjoyed the freedom of having a fenced in area to run and explore while we enjoyed their exploring worry free. It was very quiet and peaceful. We had such a great time at DogWoods Retreat this past week! The cabins are perfect and the dogs sure loved that backyard! We love to hike with our dogs and this place is located near some great trails. We hiked the Pink Beds, Skinny Dip and Bridges Gap trail, Black Balsam and Tennet Mountain and DuPont Forest. We also spotted at least 3 white squirrels!! I highly recommend these cabins...well kept, well equipped and comfortable! Many thanks to NaN and Will!
We loved our stay at Dogwoods Retreat Treefeog cabin! The cabin is awesome and our dogs loved the fenced yard!
