They are incredibly caring AND attentive – I have an Afghan named Chelsea who, for the longest time, was a little skittish around other people. We decided to board her at the Dog And Cat Spa over President's Day Weekend, and were surprised and elated when we came to get her a few days later. they didn't even care – I recently boarded my chocolate lab with these people. I dropped him off Friday afternoon healthy as can be, and got a call Sunday morning saying that my dog was sick. I was out of town, so I sent a friend to pick him up, the only thing the gal at the counter was worried about was if I was going to be able to pay my friend back, like she was really wanting to call me and get my credit card number over the phone. My dog loves it here! – I started taking my dog to their new Burnside location a couple weeks ago and he LOVES it! They treat him like a prince and he is so pooped when he comes home from day care, it makes it worth it! I know he is getting the exercise he needs, and I can tell he loves this place because when I pick him up he doesn't do his usual separation anxiety whine like he does when I pick him up at other places. Totally outstanding. Thank you for coming to Burnside!! – We boarded our three dogs for the holidays and we could not be more pleased with every aspect of the Dog and Cat Spa on Burnside. The staff was extremely kind and caring, the facilities are spacious and inviting. Our dogs were happy to see us but we suspect that they may miss their new friends. We have boarded our dogs at several other spots in and around Portland over the last 6 years and this last experience was by far the best.
My dogs favorite place! – I have been taking my dogs here for the last year and a half. My dogs LOVE it here. They have the best staff and they all know my dogs as if they were their own. When I walk in with my dogs all the staff knows their names and my dogs are so excited to see their friends. When I was shopping around I heard alot of "ohhh...you have two pitbulls? Awful! – I took my puppy to this place and it was an awful experience for both him and me. The owner was very passive aggressive and unfriendly. She obviously had no interest in my business. Not only did she overcharge me dramatically, she hurt my puppy's eyes so badly I had to take him to the vet for treatment afterwards. This place should not have a license. I will never go back nor could I ever recommend this sad sad place to anyone who loves their pet.
yay for new location! – my little pugs--bug and monster--don't want to go anywhere else and with the new location right down the street i can almost walk them there! they always take care of them and treat them like their own. they go way abve and beyond the call of duty and truely love the animals. not sure what those first four reviews were about, obviously outrageously untrue, all by the same person and probably some dog spa close by not liking the new (better) competition. don't worry i think there's enough dogs to go ar... read more
The ONLY place to take your pet! – When I tell my dog he gets to go play at the Dog & Cat Spa he nearly knocks me over getting to the door! They take such good care of him, he's always played out and cuddly when he gets home from daycare and I got to watch him while I was at work. Most of the other places in Portland over charge, or ignore my pup because he's not the one that barks or makes a nuisance of himself. Absolutely Amazing! – I boarded my 3 dogs at the Dog and Cat Spa for over 2 weeks during Thanksgiving. I was amazed at how affordable everything was and how friendly the staff was. I've had some pretty bad experiences in the past so it was nice to see something new. Even though I was getting tangled up in the leashes from my boys, the staff took a lot of time getting to know my guys' attitude, personality, schedule, etc...I didn't have time to bring their food so they fed them the house food for those 2 weeks and let me tell... read more
