Best BBQ I've had in Los Angeles – This is best BBQ joint I've been to in Los Angeles. They have huge portions, the ribs melt off the bone and the brisket is mouth watering good.
Best BBQ – I tried this place and it has the best BBQ I've ever tasted. I don't think the competition stacks up.
Extremely Overrarted – I'm native Texan and KNOW barbeque. Walked out of here 6 years ago when saw that brisket was $9/ HALF pound. Brisket is an inexpensive meat. 6 years later $13.95 half pound. Love brisket but you could do much better for $28/pound. Brisket was specialty, tried it, with links and pork ribs. Links OK but brisket tough, chewy - not tender like supposed to be. Even worse, asked for sauce on the side but whole platter came swimming in thin sugary mess. Waitress said wasn't sauce but marinade. Made sure they ... read more
excellent BBQ – the beans to die ,the hot sauce not hot but very good.the service one of thest i have i do not care if is authentic texas or from wherever the food is so so so good i will go back and recommended ,just be prepared or be very hungry those portions are for heavy weight eaters.
Disappointed – Lunched here with boyfriend Saturday, March 11. Used Zagat guide to find it. The bbq was good, not great. Enjoyed the hot links and brisket, but spareribs were just ok. His chicken was great. Our waitress was lovely (kind, professional, accommodating), but our server was very rude - a rough looking woman with a perpetual smirk and attitude bordering on disrespect. The food wasn't good enough to put up with that. We did not enjoy the sides. We like traditional pork beans and cole slaw. There was something tangy... read more
As Good As any BBQ anywhere – BBQ is not Grilled meat, BBQ is completely different and THIS is some of the best BBQ anywhere. I have tried all the items on the menu, Brisket and Hot Links are my favorite. This is a simple formula, IF you are looking for fancy, then it ain't BBQ. You could move this place to west Texas on a roadside 200 miles from anywhere and it would be crowded because it is that good. The atmosphere is Texas Roadside. We drive 185 miles to have dinner here at least every 6-8 weeks. If you like Denny's and ... read more
Don't wear a nice shirt – This place has the best ribs ever. Very much not your "typical" style of rib, very unique style and just killer. Huge portions are the norm, even the chicken pieces are massive. Kind of dumpy on the inside but no matter, the food by far makes up for it. The waitresses are rather rough around the edges. Your typical gruff, burley truck stop "Marge" types. Who cares though, the food is that good. The only draw back is you gotta go outside around back to wash up and make sure you ask for a coin before ... read more
BRISKET!!! – Oh, I love their brisket. And the hot links. Good ribs as well, but the brisket. It's worth the trip. But loose the tragic plastic bags when boxing the food - it's just too much trailer park for me...
horrible. – After a previous bad experience we decided to give dr hogly wogly's another chance due to everyone online's praise. Turns out we were right. The prices are high--even by LA standards, the food tasted like it had been in a fridge for months and thank god we took tagamet before our dinner or I'd be writing this review from the emergency room. In short, why waste your time at this overhyped dive when you could be at the other great bbq haunts in LA and actually get what you pay for.
