Our Business Goal To educate the general public on the historical geology of the Appalachian Mountains, how they were formed and what can be found here. Doc's Rocks Gem Mine is an Appalachian Mountain based gemstone mining operation. We purchase mine ore by the ton from local gemstone mines located in North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee. We had an amazing time! The boys loved shifting through the dirt for gems and the ladies were so helpful and knowledgeable!! Definitely enjoyed it and would love to do it again!
Visited here while in town with my husband for our anniversary. This was my absolute favorite part of our anniversary weekend! We found this labradorite which they cut and set into a ring for me. Their customer service was amazing! They truly went above and beyond to make sure I got the ring I wanted. It’s such a beautiful reminder of our weekend and fun time there. We will definitely be back and I always recommend this place when I get compliments on my ring!
Best place ever! Friendly& knowledgeable staff. Lots of great specimens to choose from. Mining is fun too! Doc is always welcoming and will help answer your questions. Stop on by!

Took a family trip to Boone. stopped in and got the crystal I had been looking for at a very reasonable price. Had the best time there and will definitely be going back in the near future.

we were there after Thanksgiving, and had a wonderful time very nice and knowledgeable about the rocks aka gems. We received our jewelry today December 30 2019 and I'm VERY impressed with all of it. Will be going back
I love that they don't seed their buckets. If you don't get something, they will give you another bucket free of charge. I also love that it's indoors and open year round. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable. Best gem mine in NC!
